The CHOI does not simply stand for dinner. With attention to detail, everything was chosen. This applies to the furnishings, as well as to the ingredients of the food. The wine list offers wines from small manufactories from Alsace and Rheingau. If it is not a wine, we recommend a selection of Korean tea, which is also offered as a tea accompaniment.
It’s really hard to be satisfied with Korean restaurants as I’m Korean who was born and raised in Korea, but this place is definitely the best Korean restaurant in Berlin. Sophisticated atmosphere, dedicated ingredients, authentic taste and high quality of service, everything in this place is outstanding.
Simply Delicious!
Had a wonderful dinner at Choi! Service was really nice, food was plated beautifully and well cooked. Tea Pairing was amazing, especially the ginger blossom tea was superb! You could taste that Chef Choi puts lots of heart into her dishes. The only negative thing I have to say is that the fish was a little too overcooked for my taste, but that's a personal preference. So from one chef to another I've to say respect for the innovative menu. Simple yet refreshingly new at the same time. I'll gladly recommend Choi to my friends and colleagues!
The boss and the staff were so friendly. and the wine accompaniment was really good and special
Loved the dishes and the friendliness but for that price I expected a bit more. 85/100
Staff were super nice, starters are delicious but the main dish was a bit mediocre, a bit overpriced but overall good experience.
Excellent food!
We had a very nice dinner at CHOI! We had the vegetarian and fish menu and were surprised by dishes and ingredients we had never had before. Best fried tofu ever! Also the tea pairing was new to us and really nice. Service was very friendly. Will visit again next time we are in Berlin!
Amazing restaurant!!! 👏👏Excellent, warm service, traditional korean food with a modern twist full of flavor and very special. The atmosphere is very cosy and quiet. The woman chef of the restaurant deserves a michelin star! 👏
I had a great experience coming here. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, the staff was friendly and checked whether we were fine (but not so often that it would be annoying). The food was amazing and surprised me (in a positive way). Overall would recommend coming here when looking for a higher class Korean dining experience.
Very delicious food and great service!
Not what I expected. I went there with another friend and we were both excited to try a new restaurant in Berlin. The dishes were really small and not worth the overall price (55€ for the menu - 5 tiny plates) We also did the wine tasting and they brought all the wines as we drank without matching with the food - it was a wine tasting to match with the plates. Also, we were supposed to have a side in one of the dishes but she ended up forgetting it and brought it afterwards. On the way home, feeling hungry still I had to order some delivery.
Super nice Korean menu restaurant. The operators are very friendly and competent. Another insider tip. We had a wonderful evening at CHOI ❤️
It was a neat and delicious Korean food in Berlin!
I was really excited to eat here but was disappointed. The good part: The restaurant itself is beautiful and cozy, the location is great, and the staff and host are wonderful. The bad part: food was beyond bland. The soup tasted like water, and it felt like there was minimal use of any sort of spices to bring out any sort of flavor in the dishes. On top of that the wine pairing felt like a random mix of German wines with a very high markup, and a stingily low quantity of wine per glass. Overall, the price was extremely inflated for the quality.
Extremely overpriced! The atmosphere is nice, the plates are fancy and it looks very professional. Although the food is mediocre and the portions are a joke - to say the least. There was absolutely NO FLAVOUR and you don't get full! To be honest I would expect to be charged less than 15 euros for this and not 55 euros (per person). They do a really good job tricking you by serving it in nice plates with very nice decoration but when it comes to the actual food and flavours its worse than my pizza place on the corner. At least I get full and it’s cheaper. Not to even mention the wine tasting where out of 3 wines 2 were cheap Riesling (Don't get me wrong, I like Riesling wine but I also know the price of the ones that they were charging and it felt like an insult). Portion is definitely something that this restaurant doesn’t get - regarding food and wine. You can't charge for a glass of wine when you don't even give half of the amount that should come.. On the brighter side staff is really sympathetic. The bottom line is; do not try to be a fine dining if you can't offer such service.. I'm totally ok paying for a quality service. About the food: We had some meat with a 1/4 of a tiny cauliflower - all came cold then water with noodles - absolutely terrible Desert: Frozen ice water with sugar and cinnamon. (But of course everything LOOKS nice and fancy and you get tricked) Unfortunately, biggest disappointment ever. I would not recommend it..
Greatly decorated Korean restaurant, Lunch set is good, but it is also recommended to order the course at night. There may be a different way to enjoy the restaurant from ordinary Korean restaurants! I think that each person has different feelings, so it's definitely not fun. .. .. But I had the most enjoyable dinner and lunch.
5 stars because the price (55€ fixed menu) vs what you get for it is outstanding. Spend the extra 39€ for the wine pairing because its very clever - I've been to other 2* Michelin places in Berlin where the sommelier did a much worse job. The kimchi soup with noodles is the stand out dish
Lovely Korean gastronomy (?) restaurant with friendly chef and server. It is a small but well designed cute space, so maybe suitable for a smaller group. We ate outside watching sun going down to the corner of the street where was quite quiet. Food was not what I had expected. No casual Korean, but by using their ingredient very well, it is like gastronomy Korean dishes. They are fun and their beef was amazing! It was 6 courses and some people may think they are a bit small, but for me, because it is small and is served slowly, I can remember each dish clearly. Service was really friendly, the dishes are well explained, and good drinks. Look forward to visit again when the menu changes. Thank you for the food and wonderful time!
when you find yourself surprised by a great chef and find yourself falling in love with Korean food out of the blue you can only say.... W O W
Excellent food prepared with care and attention to detail. During this period, even takeaways by reservation maintain the same quality. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the owner is particularly polite. Having spent several months in Seoul I can say that Choi not only offers authentic Korean cuisine that is faithful to tradition, but does so with a quality that is difficult to find outside of Korea. The price of the courses on the menu is justified by the quality of the ingredients and the preparation. Strongly recommended
It was superb from amuse bouche to desert! There is so much care put into every detail of the experience: excellent food, perfectly matching and carefully selected wines, collected and hand-made ceramics, well but not over designed interior, to comfortable speed of service. Absolutely nothing that could have been better! Lots of love and character in this place! Thank you
The verse version is also delicious and the Seonbi and Sura menus are very good !! From appetizers to main menus and desserts, everything is delicious. I'm buying Frankfurt and I want to go to Berlin to eat Korean food. So good The atmosphere is also good! I recommend it.
-Willing to revisit: I ’ve been here already 3rd time :) and for sure there will be 4th night. -Reasonable prices -Friendly staff -Good accessibility -Reservation recommenced -Wine faring recommenced 👍 (do n’t be shy to ask the owner for the bottle perches as well, She will carefully find out your taste wine🍷) The food served here has been made with the utmost care for detail. Choi stays authentic with her cooking and infuses each plate with her lovely character. The interior is genuinely complementing the food served and allows you to immerse yourself into the food. Trust her choice, more than dining. . In food you can feel the chef's heart. Superbly lovely restaurant. Neat and warm dishes and interiors, as well as cooking, are enough to end your day happily with dinner inside.
Fantastic place! Super fresh, inventive and diverse set menus, cosy atmosphere, amazing design, super friendly service, nice wine pairings. What else could you want? Portions are not huge, so would recommend to get the Gujeolpan as a starter, which you need to order a day in advance!
Experience today, everything delicious, different tastes, I liked wine pairing \ * o * /
We‘ve been here due to a recommendation. For that price we had high expectations regarding food and wine pairing. In general we were not satisfied with the over all combination of food and wine - we had the feeling that it was randomly chosen. To sum it all up - it was overrated food which has no relation to its price and service.
The host was simple delightful and the cuisine was beautiful and delicious!
Authentic, beautifully presented, great taste in decoration, and amazing service! I’m born & raised in Korea then lived around the world (so tried Korean good from k-towns in different countries), but by far, this is one of the BEST modern Korean restaurants - even compared to the ones in the coolest parts in Korea. (Also I share the same last name with the chef while we are not related at all!)
Great experience, good food, friendly owner!
Amazing food, amazing wines and service. The owner is great at explaining everything. Best restaurant in Berlin.
Amazing experience, great food. Worth discovering!
Nice food with relaxing atmosphere. 6-er Dishes were served with perfect timing. Would like to visit again. + friendly owner Ms Choi :)
Cozy, elegant place with a simple but exquisite menu.
So delicious, authentic and inspiring - the restaurant brings you into another world - highly recommended!
I went to dinner around 19 o'clock, but nobody was there. Dinner is definitely expensive. It's 39 euros ribs and 8 euros extra rice. (Course menu only. Course dishes are really delicious. It's hard to taste in Korea. Dessert homemade ice cream is more delicious than Be * 31! It's just the best .. I think it's rare in Korean restaurants overseas. It's delicious, so it's full of local guests. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant atmosphere was good and the food quality was really good. There should be a lot of restaurants in Korea. Really recommended! The restaurant is hard to see in the evening, so open your eyes and find it.
I visited Choi in last summer, it was nice choice ever. I’m pesco vegetarian so i tried “sunbi” course in dinner. Atmosphere was so cozy but like fine dining. Tastes were totally perfect, Korean restaurants in NL or Germany which i tried so far are sometimes too sweet or too salty. Besides Chief’s recommendation for wine was good too. It matched with my food well, so if you wanna try diverse wine with Korean food but you have no idea, don’t hesitate and ask her. She is friendly and really love to give u tips! I’m sure that i’m gonna visit again if i’m back to Berlin:)
Really excellent, authentic Korean food. Brings me right back Seoul. The owner is an excellent host and the atmosphere is modern but cozy. Highly recommended.
A pleasant surprise located on one of the quieter streets of Berlin! Food was amazing comprised of traditional Korean dishes and the wines on the list perfectly matched the beautifully presented food. Perfect place for a first date or if you want to enjoy quality food and wine. Would definitely go back when in Berlin!
fantstic !!
Highly recommend, cosy atmosphere and absolutely delicious food. Will definitely be back.
Fine place.
A small departure from the planned route and then there was a small gold group of Korean food. Tasty food (all fresh), good drinks and really cozy and intimate atmosphere. Highly recommended!
just outstanding !
Great. Loved the experience
That was a nice meal and wine. Loved the short ribs and fish. Will definitely come back!
Very authentic, traditional Korean cuisine prepared with love. The food was delicious and above all not too spicy / salty, which is a part of good korean cuisine (한정식, korean formal cuisine). The price for a 6-course meal is fine for what you get. Especially when compared to the other fine dining restaurants in Berlin, it is rather cheap. The restaurant is located in a very nice location on Teutoburger Platz. The ambience is very nice and cozy. The boss, who cooked and served herself, was very friendly and funny. The restaurant is so much to be recommended for the people who would like to try something different instead of always the same Korean BBQ or Korean street food restaurants.
Awesome selection of authentic Korean tastes with multiple small dishes. I highly recommend to also take the wine pairing. All the wines we had were excellent and definitely brought the dishes to the next level, too.
We had all three menu variations. They were well prepared and the taste suited our palettes - delicious and aromatic! ... except the main course for the vegetarian menu; the sauce was too little for the portion. My favorite was the scallop 😊. The plates were also beautiful. It was a cozy little restaurant.
Biggest disappointment I ever had in Berlin. Smallest portions, tasteless dishes. I was very dissatisfied with the vegetarian Menu.
